Resumo
: On 19 June 1799 the german naturalist Alexander von Humboldt stopped in Tenerife, with the aim of climbing El Teide volcano. Due to the importance of travel literature in experience tourism, this research aims as analysing their touristic allure. To reach this result, a detailed study of the journey has been made through fieldwork. The route itself is 30 km long in a 3,718-metre slope with eighteen halts. Considering the reconstruction of Humboldt’s itinerary, the touristic activities associated with natural tourism (relief, climate, water, vegetation and wildlife) and cultural (urban-rural).
