The notion of transparency applied to museums of contemporary art should cover not only institutional activity but the forming process of its contents and architecture. Regarding the Canary Islands, the two key centres are TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes and Centro Atántico de Arte Moderno (CAAM). Both have had different approaches to contemporary art and its management. Those divergences are expressed in the notion of transparency.
