Resumen

The thesis proposes the drafting of an operating procedure to manage the meteorological information necessary for passage planning and navigation control for ships threatened by severe weather systems. To do this, we have considered the principles of Integrated Management Systems, and those included in the International Safety Management Code for merchant ships. Collects and applies concepts related to operational management and continuous improvement, management by processes and a based on responsibility and leadership approach. It also addresses issues relating to safety and risk assessment. The aim is to provide the professional a tool to guide their actions in the case considered, so that the risks of navigation in severe weather conditions in latitudes affected by tropical cyclones are minimized.
