This article aims to open or at least examine a little explored field: business management in an institutional setting in the Canary Islands for the dissemination of art and its social repercussions, highlighting the means used by the management to put into practice the ideas expressed in the setting up of museums and art centres. The organisational structures of museums in the Canary Islands should not disregard the introduction and development of the areas that enhance the visibility of artistic projects and spin-off activities. A 21st century model should therefore prioritise external resources in order to further and position the museum on the same level as the rest within the current scene.
