Résumé
Art is a major legacy in Alexander von Humboldt’s publications and this paper aims to be an approach to the impressive list of artists involved in the visual level of his works, to the itinerant and dynamic progress followed by the illustrations from the starting sketch to the final engraving, to the intensive supervision task exerted by the scientist along the creative process, and to the way his ideas and views pervade the artistic product.
