Resum

Since the development of the tourism destination life cycle model was published some theories and complementary models have been developed. These theories and models are useful to understand the phase of the cycle in which a tourist destination is, and also to take the corresponding measures, and provide content to the actions that tourist agents carry out to get a more responsible and sustainable tourism development. Using a sample of 252 young people and future professionals of the tourism sector an investigation has been carried out to know the ideas about the management of the tourist company in relation to the tourist development of their destiny of residence. The results have shown that the future professionals have clear ideas of actions that could be carried out, and also that there are some significant differences by sex in the responses of young people.
