Abstract
The Maastrichtian of the Tremp Basin (Pyrenees, NE Spain) is one of the stages that present the richest mesozoic vertebrate fossils assemblages from the Iberian Peninsula. In this context are already famous the sites of the last European dinosaurs of Arén (Huesca, Spain) or in Catalonia in the areas of Vallcebre, Coll de Nargó, Tremp or Ager (Lleida, Spain). The Aragosaurus-IUCA research team of the University of Zaragoza has developed new palaeontological surveys in the northwest sector of the Tremp Group, close to the localities of Serraduy and Beranuy (Huesca, Spain) during the last decade. This fieldwork has allowed the discovery of new vertebrate sites with the presence of dinosaurs remains (hadrosaurids, ornithopods indet., avian theropods and sauropods), chelonians and neosuchian crocodilomorphs. The sites from Huesca pint to a high biodiversity of dinosaurs in the Pyrenees during the late Maastrichtian just before the great K/T extinction.
