Résumé

Aims of the thesis: The main aim of this thesis is the development a collaborative intelligent platform for decision support and recommendations in agriculture to achieve the following specific tasks: -" Design of an ontological model for the knowledge representation in the agriculture domain". -" Development of a system for monitoring plantations and crops through information that the user will provide through a web interface". -" Development of a system for the specific recommendation based on knowledge technologies". -" Development of a comprehensive platform for decision support and recommendation in agriculture". Methodology: The methodology used in this proposal allows the application to offer a stable, friendly and efficient environment. It aims to create a platform that facilitates the user to make decisions based on the conditions of their crops, as well as establish control and care recommendations. For this, the system consists of a set of well-organized modules that allow to achieve the proposed objectives. The methodology used consists of 4 phases: -" Study of the state of the art: Analysis of the concepts and elements of a semantic web, general definitions of ontologies, languages and tools for the creation of ontologies". -"Study of existing ontologies in the agricultural area, and an analysis of current decision support systems in agriculture". -" Design and development of the proposed system based on ontologies: ontology design, based on knowledge and domain experts to define rules and recommendations which includes cultivation, diseases, pests and weeds that affect them. The decision support system based on ontologies for the diagnosis and prevention of diseases in crops was developed". -" Validation of the proposal: With the help of farmers and experts in the field of agriculture, different tests were carried out, depending on the diseases, pests and weeds that affect to the crops. Besides, a survey was applied to farmers to know the level of satisfaction and usability of the developed application". Conclusions: This PhD thesis describes a proposal for a decision support system based on ontologies in the field of agriculture, specifically in the control and prevention of diseases in crops. The proposed system is innovative and includes ontologies and semantic technologies to provide reasoning capabilities to the system. Besides, it has been validated in Ecuador. The system presents some basic features: easy-to-use system for farmers, concrete, reliable and recommended. It is worth noting that ontology development has been based on Ecuadorian experts in the area of the Agriculture. Therefore, the proposed platform presents effective solutions for the control, diagnosis and prevention in the domain of crop diseases.
