Abstract

Parkinson's is a neurodegenerative disease with motor and non-motor clinical manifestations. The voice disorders often appear early, before their own motor complications of the disease. This paper presents the efficacy of voice therapy of a patient with Parkinson's disease without motor symptoms through acoustic-perceptive analysis. It also assesses the effectiveness of long-term, five years after the end of treatment, when the patient has motor symptoms of moderate severity. The results of this study suggest that intervention of voice disorders at an early stage of Parkinson's disease has positive and resistant effects to disease progression.
