Thesquares composed of5* laütude &longitude, in wich theCanary Islands lies, in the North Atlanüc Ocean, have a fairly regularclimatology &on this basis any forecast is pretty easy to estimate. Having intoaccount allthestaüsücsand records keptduring over 100years, in the American & British Oceanographic Offices publicaüons e.i. Pilot Charts, RouteingCharts &Oceanographic AÜas. it is easy to workout the set &drift ofwind generated currents from every direcüonofthe compass. These tend to concéntrate in a monthly área known as "danger área" with respect to marine polluüon. From this "danger área" it is very likely that anyfloaüng object lift there, will be thrown in the Canary Islands shores. The "safety áreas", larger than the "danger áreas", are constrained on a monthly basis by the northernlimit inwhich Üie GulfStreamturns in a souüiward direcüon.
