Abstract

Volcano-tourism is a form of geotourism that is acquiring increasing importance worldwide due to the proximity of volcanic landscapes to major emitting centers of tourism. One of the great advantages is that its practice does not require a specialized audience. In this sense, Tenerife is an international destination well known that has a significant geotourism offer around the El Teide National Park or the Cueva del Viento, showing very diverse volcanic landscape. For these reasons it is proposed to select and characterize 50 places of geoturistic sites of interest on the island. They offer to visitors the geodiversity and variety of natural and cultural heritage associated with Tenerife’s volcanoes, helping to further diversify the tourist offer on the island
