Zusammenfassung
This paper describes an empirical and theoretical overview on the spatial internal representation, and its implications for the blind. The paper is divided in three sections. Firstly, we describe some of our empirical data about the spatial representation of the blind. Secondly, we examine the relationship between cognition and mobility. Finally, we propose some guidelines for the diagnosis and the evaluation of orientation and mobility capabilities of the blind.
