The objective of this study is to improve tolerance to frustration through play techniques and challenges aimed at gifted students. For purposes of this study, an intervention program based on a quasi-experimental methodology and a non-equivalent control group design was conducted and analyzed in order to improve tolerance to frustration in the population group studied. The study sample, determined by non-probabilistic and convenience sampling, included 19 boys and girls, 7 and 9 years of age, participating in the Comprehensive Program for High Abilities (PIPAC). The program was composed of six activities, originally meant to be executed in an onsite setting. However, due to the health crisis caused by the pandemic in March 2020, the program was conducted in an online format. The Frustration Tolerance Assessment questionnaire by Perez and Rodríguez (2019) was used to measure the level of tolerance to frustration in the participants, before, during and after the intervention. The results show significant differences in the levels of tolerance to frustration before and after the intervention in both the experimental and control groups. Study results should be considered for future programs as well as running the program for a longer period of time, with prior training and in a more playful approach. Although online implementation of this particular program was not considered to be ideal the program itself is adequate.
