Abstract
Starting from the window symbol, this article explores some of its posibilities in epistemological and didactic analysis. From an interdisciplinar perspective, it analizes some aspects of the symbol in different artistic manifestations (literature, picture, cinema, comic), proposing a series of subjects: light apotheosys (irruption of sun or moon light in the room); flight of imagination (the window as a place from which the artist submerges into the scenery and its citizens or as a frame through which he looks what happens inside the homes); accomplice of love (window as a structural element that shows different posibilities of relation between lovers); from prison (contact point whith the world that reveals imprisonment situations: real prison, the woman relegated to the domestic sphere, the school); irruption of the fantastic (the window as a door to other worlds); window as the protagonist (as an artistic object that has taken entity and personality). Finally, this article suggests this interdisciplinar perspective and the proposal of a symbol as a kind of organization of contents; that allows an integrated treatment of different disciplines; the critical reflection; the inclusion of transversal axes, and the integration of artistic manifestations that are interesting for students
