Abstract

Astudy on the variation on soil sensitivity toward erosion has been carried out in a geo-graphical context such as the Canary Islands, characterized by a high environmental diversity. The vali-dity of aggregate stability tests versus the theoretical estimation of erodibility (K factor of USLE) hasbeen tested. The lithology, the altitudinal climatic variation, and the degree of vegetation disturbationhave been shown to be mostly responsible for erodibility of the soils in the area.
