Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to identifywhat the actors involved in the program “Thecomputer in the school” understand by manage-ment, which is one of the dimensions that contrib-utes to the effectiveness of this project and to edu-cational quality. This program is coordinated bythe Ministry of Education and the National Cen-ter for the Improvement of the Teaching of Sci-ence, CENAMEC. The study is integrated intothe qualitative paradigm and has been presentedin a descriptive exploratory format. A sample wastaken of 7 of the 43 schools that are involved inthe program on a national level. An analysis ofthe information obtained from secondary sourcesis presented as well as the sample results from theinformation gathered from the actors involved inthe program. The factors which make up themanagement of the educational computer scienceprogram were identified from the perspective ofthe actors as well as in light of the importancethat they have had in the execution of the projectand in the fulfilment of project objectives. Mana-gerial tasks that require improvement were alsoidentified
