Resumo

The trade of Wine became one of the main lines of exporter business for the island of El Hierro from the second half of the 18th century until the beginning of the 20th century. Traded mainly at a regional level through traditional commercial transactions, its analysis has still to be carried out. This paper, made up through the information supplied by two unpublished documentary collections, is intended to provide some useful clues on the island's wine trade activity during the first decades of the 20th century, highlighting the historical importance of the different forms of traditional commercial relations, cut through, for the period we are dealing with, by a renovating parenthesis of unsuccessful ending.
