Résumé

The radon exhalation rate has been determined in 37 samples of selected volcanic rocks of the Canary Archipelago covering a wide lithological spectrum. Mujahid et al. (2008), defined a risky radiological index that quantifies the internal exposure to carcinogenic radon named as internal activity index. In this work, we tried to obtain a relationship between the internal activity index of the samples and their radon exhalation rate. The results indicate that there is an increase of the radon exha- lation rate as the internal activity index increases.
