Abstract

We propose the school experience as a framework that allows us to make visiblethe interactions between the social cultures represented by the sociocultural diversity of thestudents and the school culture. We assume the dialectical, dynamic and contradictory senseof the educational system as well as the role of social cultures as flexible enclaves, traversed bydomination processes derived from social inequality.We present on oneside, an interpretative model that isbasedonthe reproductive tendency of theschool institution and that incorporates the logic of the actors as a way to understand the schoolfield taking into consideration recent social changes. On the other, the design and main results ofan ongoing research that aims to give an empirical answer to our theoretical concerns
