Abstract

Gay The war between Portugal and Castile in the 70s of the 15th century caused the Castilians to focus his interest in the Atlantic coast, until that time preserve of the Portuguese. The war spread to the Atlantic and the Canary Islands which were to conquer both the Guinea coast gained a new strategic importance in the conflict. The Castilians ventured beyond Cape Bojador and reached to places unknown until that time. We will discuss those trips and the time in which the step is passed to reach the mythical Guinea.
