Resumen

This article presents the results of an investigation on what type of citizenship and citizen participation are configured by the relationships that adolescents maintain in virtual social networks. For the construction and interpretation of the data, a mixed methodology and a hermeneutic and feminist epistemology have been used. In addition to verifying the “online” dimension in which adolescents live, this study’s findings include a tension between what characterizes the construction of a sense of the common and subjective-relational and what characterizes their political participation and community building.
