Abstract

The nursing process (np) is considered as the ideal theoretical framework for the practice of nurse training since the seventies. Although it saw a widespread introduction in the eighties in the curricula of our country, we still have not managed it apply it systematically in practise —at least in our context—, which has forced us to take a critical look at our training practice. In this critical look, we decided to explore the opinion-perception, both of the teachers and the students regarding np using a qualitative methodology. The results show both the existence of coincident opinions and worries in both collectives on some aspects, and the presence of different positions regarding how we should develop training within np. This study has allowed us to design a series of recommendations that could help the np to be applied systematically when practising nursing.
