Objective: To describe the effect of a pilot yoga program on the quality of life of pediatric cancer patients undergoing outpatient chemotherapy treatment. Metod: mixed, quasi-experimental design, with pre-test and post-test. Participants aged 6 to 10 years were recruited, eight completed the entire program. The program considered 6 Hatha yoga group sessions per participant. The questionnaires on Pediatric Quality of Life generic and specific version of cancer (Pediatric Quality of life inventory (PedsQl) 4.0 and 3.0) were used. A semi-structured interview is conducted to identify the benefits perceived by the caregiver. Results: There were no significant differences in the results of quality of life before and after the program, but benefits were reported in the interviews with caregivers in the categories of pain, physical resistance, and mood. Conclusions: This study could serve as a guide for future research that incorporates yoga in pediatric oncology, in a hospital setting.
