Resumo

Objective: To analyze the area of vascular flow and density of the different macular area plexuses in healthy population measured by TCO angiography (TCO-A). Method: Cross-sectional study in healthy population of our area, using the Nidek AdvanceTCO® (Nidek, Aichi, Japan). The area of macular vascular flow and the density in the superficial capillary plexus, deep capillary plexus and the deep plexus of the external retina were calculated. Both measurements were calculated automatically using the Nidek AdvanceTCO® software. Results: 81 eyes in 44 patients were analyzed. 63.64% were women. The average age was 46.3 +/- 12.72 years (range 19-79) and the spherical equivalent was -0.06 +/- 1.79 diopters. The area of vascular flow from the superficial plexus to the external retina was: 1.96 +/- 0.22 mm2 with 95% CI (1.91-2.00); 3.20 +/- 0.22 mm2 with 95% CI (3.15-3.24) and 3.69 +/- 0.30 mm2 with 95% CI (3.63-3.75). The density of the flow from the superficial vascular plexus to the external retina was: 16.27 +/- 3.09% with IC95% (15.64-16.89); 32.24 +/- 4.87% with 95% CI (31.25-33.33) and 39.18 +/- 7.47% with 95% CI (37.66-40.69). Conclusions: With this data we can establish a normative and automated database with density and vascular flow area of healthy population for the Nidek TCO-A system. All the values of automated measurements in the TCO-A systems should be considered related to the TCO-A system that we are using
