Resumo

In this paper, we present an exploratory study of the emotions declared by a group of students while performing activities with geometric shapes. Participants were 25 students, of the 12th grade, from one school in Santiago de Chile who were asked to link one emotion to each one of the 25 activities that their teacher presented to them during the study of the unit titled Area and volume of geometric shapes, using a list with six emotions: anger, worry, boredom, indifference, happiness, and challenge. We present a global map of the emotions declared by these students, and an analysis of the dependence between emotions, gender of the students and the type of activity in which each emotion is declared.
