Zusammenfassung
The entry into force on June 25, 2021 of the Organic Law 3/2021, of March 24, on the regulation of euthanasia (LORE) has meant the recognition of end-of-life care and respect for the dignity of people in situations of poor prognosis. The aim of this review is to evaluate the evidence on the knowledge of health professionals in relation to euthanasia. A systematic search was carried out in 10 databases (Dialnet, Cuiden, Scopus, Medline, CINAHL, Cochrane, Scielo, the official meta-search engine of the University of La Laguna, PubMed and the Virtual Health Library) in order to identify the studies carried out on this subject in the last 10 years. A notable paucity of scientific evidence on the knowledge of health professionals regarding euthanasia has been found. Likewise, there is a need to implement instructional programs that address it from the initial stages of training. More studies of this type are also needed.
