Abstract

The Nursing profession has been built in Spain under different denominations and different study plans, which have been studied in University centers of the Peninsula and from the 60s of the last century in the Canary Islands and specifically in the province of Santa Cruz Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. SEGUNDO SEMESTRE 2022-AÑO X-NÚMERO 20 REVISTA EGLE (ISSN-E: 2386-9267)59These degrees were initially attached to the Faculty of Medicine of Cádiz attached in turn to the University of Seville and later they were included at the University of La Laguna with attached and own centers. There has recently been an increase in the number of centers that teach this Nursing degree in the Canary Islands, with the arrival of Private Universities. This work aims to present, in a general way, the evolution of Nursing studies in recent years in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, at the University of La Laguna. A documentary review has been carried out in official databases and a narrative bibliographic search, to describe the evolution of the studies and teaching centers in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in Centers dependent on the University of La Laguna in any modality. The centers where the training of Sanitary Technical Assistants, Diploma in Nursing and Degree in Nursing have been given are: Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria School of Nursing, as a center attached to the University of La Laguna, the Nursing Section of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of La Laguna, currently transformed and in the process of completion into the Faculty of Nursing and the Nursing Headquarters on the island of La Palma, of the University of La Laguna.
