Abstract

In the field of emotional intelligence many researchers have studied the relation betweencognitive and emotional intelligence. The current study tries to analyze the relation betweenintellectual ability and emotional intelligence with a sample of undergraduate students. Forthis, we used one aptitude test (PMA) and two questionnaires which measure emotionalintelligence (MSCEIT, an execution test and TMMS-24, a self-test). Results are different dueto the lack of relation between cognitive intelligence and emotional intelligence measuredby TMMS-24 whereas emotional intelligence correlates with the IQ when the first one isassessed by MSCEIT.
