Resum
The National Spiritual Assembly of the Canary Islands is made up of 51 assemblies and around 700 followers. For the members of this community, the nearing of the faith and conversion is not only characterized by a direct relationship with specific moments in which people experience serious “difficulties” or “personal crisis” on their lives: health or economic issues, broken relationships, depression etc. It is also characterized by a distancing from behaviours and thoughts that lead them to these “bad trips”, whilst looking to getting to know, through their own personal liberty, “the good trips”, a wish of complete acceptance and giving that requires believers to be faithful as opposed to having faith.
