Abstract
This study shows new data on the populations of the act1marian Telmatactis cricoides, abundant on intertidal and shallow sublittoral environments of the Canary Islands. We assessed the symbiotic relationships that they establish with other species, as well as sorne morphological characteristics and their distribution. The largest anemones of T. cricoides were found at 15-30 m depth. Twenty-one different color patterns were recorded for the specie, which seemed to be related to the sizes ofthe anemones. Ten different species were found in symbiosis with T cricoides, being the most frequent Thor amboinensis and Stenorhynchus lanceoaltus. The abundance and composition of the symbiotic community was related to the size of the host. These results represent an advance in the knowledge of some poorly known characteristics of this species.
