Abstract

Almost half a century after its premiere, the half-lenght film “La cabina” (Antonio Mercero, 1972) continues in the television memory of thespaniards of the Baby Boom generation, thanks, to a large extent, to its high symbolic load. Both the press that went to the previous screenings, as well as the specializad critics after its issuance, emphasized this particularity, attributing for months, like the public of the time, the most diverse meanings to the metaphorical content of the narrative, in which was deposited, by consensus, the unquestionable impact of the film. This article have pressed its validity in this sense, and the posible evolutions around the perception and interpretation of its narrative, through the modern visión of five generations of future journalists belonging to Z Generation, to whom, during a Creativity module of the Journalism Degree, in University of La Laguna (ULL), was requested, between 2015 and 2020, to offer, with minimal contextual references, their own interpretations of some defining elements of the film, yielding results in their own and current world view.
