Analysis of satisfaction, resilience and SPS in a group of grandparents who interact with their grandchildren during COVID-19

Resumen

Antecedentes: la COVID-19 viene afectando las relaciones familiares entre abuelos/as y nietos/as. El objetivo de este trabajo fue analizar los cambios en esa interacción, su satisfacción y su relación con dos factores de fortaleza/vulnerabilidad de los abuelos/as, durante la pandemia. Método: se entrevistó a 79 abuelos/as, entre 57 y 89 años (M = 71,13; DT = 8,00) sobre resiliencia (CD-RISC) y sensibilidad de procesamiento sensorial (SPS). Los datos se analizaron con estadísticos descriptivos y pruebas inferenciales. Resultados: las actividades han disminuido durante la pandemia, especialmente las lúdicas (33%) y su satisfacción fue media-alta, según las categorías de actividades, y según la edad de los abuelos/as, su estado de salud y su hábitat cercano/lejano a las nietos/as. La resiliencia resultó alta (76,4%) y relacionada con mayor satisfacción y con un nivel educativo medio-alto. La SPS resultó mayoritariamente moderada (62%), y relacionada con mayor satisfacción en actividades de transmisión cultural y cuando viven lejos de sus nietos/as. Conclusiones: durante el segundo año pandémico, mientras las actividades compartidas disminuyeron algo, las variables de satisfacción y fortaleza de los abuelos/as como resiliencia y SPS mostraron unos niveles medio-altos, interactuando entre sí y con sus variables sociodemográficas. Su mejor conocimiento podría optimizar esa relación intergeneracional.
