Abstract

This paper highlights the legislative effort deployed to protect and promote the rights of people with disabilities in the workplace and society at large. Despite this, it is noted that the regulations exhibit shortcomings and dysfunctions compared to the social model envisioned by the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), which need to be addressed for the creation of inclusive and accessible work environments. The labor inclusion of people with disabilities requires specific measures, political commitments, and legislative changes to ensure equal opportunities in the job market. Finally, socio-labor integration measures are presented that should enable the creation of environments where people with disabilities can fully participate in the job market, overcoming the barriers and challenges they face.
