Abstract
Elia Kazan and Pedro Almodóvar have successfully brought to the screen Tennessee William’s masterpiece A Streetcar Named Desire. Kazan adapted the play in a film that has become an American classic, while Almodóvar incorporated it in the narrative of his acclaimed film All About My Mother. This paper explores the connections between the play and the films as well as those between their different art forms.
