Resumo

This paper presents a strategy to support sketching and spatial abilities development by means of computer applications and Internet. In first place, we present and analyze available Web sites devoted to support spatial abilities, in order to offer these resources to students with problems in this area. Then, we survey existing techniques to measure spatial abilities, showing how to use them to validate a teaching activity in this field. Last part of this paper is dedicated to present an educational sketch-based modeling tool. This tools allows to build automatically a 3D model using a sketched axonometric view as input, and then normalized orthographic projections of the model are shown.
