Résumé

Studies on the history of women and gender relations are incorporated into the list of specific tables Studies on the history of women and gender relations are incorporated into the list of specific tables of the Colloquio de Historia Canario Americana in its XIII edition held in 1998 in conjunction with the VIII Congress of the American History Association (A.E.A.). The coincidence in time of both scientific meetings favored the creation of a proper space for the presentation of results in the area of women’s and gender studies. It is evident that we cannot continue to classify the study of gender relations in history as a novel topic, but due to its innovative nature and its constant theoretical renewal, it is an emerging topic in global historiography. The objective of this communication will be to analyze the trajectory of the history of women in the Canary Islands through the Colloquium of Canarian American History.
