Zusammenfassung

Archaeoastronomical research in recent decades has allowed us to obtain a relatively accurate picture of the pre-Hispanic island calendars during the 14th and 15th centuries, especially in Gran Canaria, Tenerife and La Gomera. Part of these calendars is related to the celebration of certain festivals, fixed astronomically, which, depending on the case, could last several days, cause important population displacements, or be considered periods of peace. In this paper I study the relationship between these insular festivities and some important dates of the Castilian conquest in the second half of the 15th century with the intention of shedding light in both directions: to introduce new aspects in the study of the conquest techniques used by the invading troops and to open an unexplored access way to the study of the insular calendars.
