From very early on, the cinematographic spectacle began to be strongly rooted in the culture and society of La Laguna, reaching its definitive consolidation at the beginning of the second decade of the 20th century. It was precisely in that decade that the introduction of new ways of advertising the films that the cinemas offered to their audiences was consolidated: posters, photographs and handbills. The aims of this work are, on the one hand, to make known and enhance the heritage of hand programmes and cinema posters from the 1910s that are in the Municipal Archive of La Laguna (AMLL), and which remain practically unknown, and, on the other hand, to unravel through their study how the cinematic spectacle was produced and evolved in the city during those years.
