Abstract

It is described a work of artistic education carried out in times of COVID-19 whose objectiveis to communicate and vindicate the work of very diverse women artists through the symbol of thepandemic: the masks. Planned as a project, it offers all the pedagogical advantages associated withproject work. After framing the problem of Art Education and the evolution of feminist art, the workand its context are justified and described. Finally, there is a review of research on feminism and arteducation. The methodology used is through Project Based Learning, since we propose a teaching activity thatvisualizes the struggle of the work of women artists. Another of the methods proposed is through A/r/tography (Irwin and De Cousson, 2004), in which the teacher assumes the role of researcher andartist to give a broader scope to the proposal designed. The results refer not only to the obtaining of such didactic material for the classroom, but also tothe process of inquiry and research on a subject little studied in the classroom, such as the feministartistic current, as well as other authors who have worked from the idea of feminist criticism (Hooks,1984) or through the idea of Social Justice (Ewald, 2002, 2005).The aim is to give a transdisciplinary approach to the project by using and framing the idea throughthe context of the pandemic, the visualization of women artists and their work, associating it to theeducational field.
