Abstract

A true model of co-responsible reconciliation requires the intervention of the State by articulating a public care network that supports an important part of care tasks from the commons and by creating decent employment in the sector. The institutional role of the State is highlighted in the 2030 Agenda and the Gender Equality Strategy 2020- 2025, which stress the need to recognize and value unpaid care, as well as the importance of investing in care services to support women’s participation in paid employment. Initiatives such as the European Care Strategy or the Co-responsible Plan in Spain seek to address the lack of care services and improve working conditions in the care sector, with a focus on the creation of quality employment and the provision of a network of affordable, accessible and good quality care services.
