Resumen
In this article we will address the for-mation of the colonial construct in Chile between 1813 and 1911, the year the Na-tional Institute was created in Santiago and the inauguration date of the National Historical Museum in the same city, re-spectively. What was expressed by the in-telligentsia residing in Santiago in the 19th century, imbricated in a post-inde-pendence situation charged with republi-can airs, together with the attachment to the colonial language manifested by the working classes, establish a coexistence of ways, models, readings and forms, that of-fer a double reality and that mix, merge and travel hand in hand during the pro-posed chronological framework. From the reflection on the texts produced in Chile, we intend to measure both the cons-truc-tion of a generalized ideology of the "colo-nial" concept, as well as its mutation and transformation to accommodate both men-tioned realities.
