Abstract

In Noda (2001), we analysed and described the different kinds of behaviour of a group of students of Secondary School and students of Teacher Training, in the preparation phase (Bourne, Ekstrand and Dominowski, 1971), when they are faced with well and badly defined “finding problems” in different contexts. In this paper, we present a preliminary research about one of the questions that came up in the previous work, like is the analysis of the behaviour that arises in the solution of badly defined problems, in all their phases: preparation, production and prosecution. We use the elaborated theoretical instruments, in terms of competency models, from the epistemology and cognitive point of view, together with an instrument of organisation and analysis of qualitative data as are the systemic networks. The study was carried out with students of Superior Centres of Education, of different Spanish Universities, that begin their studies in the different specialities (Hernández, Noda, Palarea and Socas, 2002), and we present partial results of the analysis of the performances of these students.
