Currently, Angel S. Marrero is a postdoctoral researcher at the Research Center of Social Inequality and Governance (CEDESOG) of the University of La Laguna (ULL). He holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from University of Barcelona and a PhD in Economics from ULL. His work has been based on two research lines: discrete choice models applied to transport demand, the main topic of his doctoral thesis, and the revision of the convergence hypotheses under the economic growth theory. Currently, his main focus is to study inequality of opportunities in education. This research work has been materialized in the publications of several papers included in the Journal Citation Report (JCR), including Transportation Research Part A, Energy Economics and Energy Policy, in visiting research periods both predoctoral (Technical University of Denmark, Universidad Católica de Chile and World Bank) and postdoctoral (Newcastle University) and in the participation in several conferences and competitive research projects at local, national and international level.
