Doctor by the Universidad de La Laguna with the thesis Essays on health inequality and inequality of opportunity 2023. Supervised by Dr. Gustavo A. Marrero, Dr. Sara Darias Curvo.

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher Catalina Ruiz in the Department of Economics, Accounting and Finance at the University of La Laguna. I am also a Visiting Researcher in the Department of Applied Economics at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, and affiliated to CEDESOG and EQUALITAS. I hold a PhD in Economics from the University of La Laguna. My research focuses on the areas of Health Economics and Development Economics, particularly on the analysis and evolution of the determinants of health and health inequality (in both children and adults), as well as on the study of inequality of opportunity in health.
