I studied Pharmacy at the University of La Laguna, obtaining my degree in Pharmacy in 1988. I subsequently carried out the research project “Phytochemical and Pharmacodynamic Study of Visnea mocanera L. fil.” in the Department of Physical Medicine and Pharmacology (Unit of Pharmacognosy and Pharmacodynamics), for which I was awarded an Outstanding grade in the Master’s Thesis category, as well as the Extraordinary Degree Award (1990). To complete this work, I was granted a scholarship by the Island Council of Tenerife for the period 1989–1991. I later pursued doctoral studies at the same university, earning my PhD in Pharmacy in 1993 with the distinction of cum laude. As a result of this research activity, I have authored numerous publications in prestigious national and international journals, as well as presentations and/or lectures at conferences. I have also participated in various research projects, received several scholarships for this purpose, and was recognized by the National Commission for the Evaluation of Research Activity (ANECA) with a six-year research merit for the period 2001–2006. In 1997, I joined the faculty of the University of La Laguna as an Associate Professor in the Department of Nursing, teaching in the Nursing and Physiotherapy degree programs. In 2001, I obtained the position of Senior Lecturer at the University School, and in 2010 I was appointed Senior Lecturer at the University. Since then, and to this day, I continue to carry out research and teaching activities, remaining committed to the academic training of nursing professionals, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
