Doctor by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid with the thesis Ciudades, autómatas celulares y sistemas complejos evaluación de un modelo dinámico de cambio de usos de suelo urbano de Madrid 2015. Supervised by Dr. Javier Gutiérrez Puebla, Dr. Juan Carlos García Palomares.

Member of the Institutional Chair Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilient Cities. He is an expert on Geographical Information System applied to dynamic models based on cellular automata, mainly on the field of land use change. Later he has applied the knowledge to the study of disaster risk reduction and resilience. Among his scientific work the exploration of geodatabase for land use change monitoring; the adaptation process to climate change in island spaces; the renewable energy location and land occupation; the urbanization process in Mediterranean cities; the global warming in the North Atlantic basin; or the study of flood risk on islands are remarkable. Research lines: Disaster risk reduction and climate change Risk assessment and emergency planning Mapping, GIS and natural risks
