Abstract

The present paper tries to assess the way that individual socio-economic features have an influence on the frequency of consumption of different kinds of wine and, on the other hand, on the number of different kinds of wine that are consumed, so that distinct consumer profiles can be identified. Discrete choice models are used for this purpose: binomial logit models and Poisson models, respectively. We use data from a survey on wine consumption in Tenerife that took place between April and May of 2001.
