Abstract
Since the 1980’s many studies related to the historic and artistic relations between the Canary Islands and Brazil have been published in the Historiography of the Canary Islands. These resarches have had the aim to analyze the commerce in the Felipe III era, being specially relevant the exports of Tenerife wine to Pernambuco and Bahia, as well as the arrival of sugar as an exchange product. After the crisis of 1640, the links to Brazil can be located through the study of a common religious sensitiveness and also through its artistic expressions and the development of a popular architecture that shares the same grounds. Finally, after the 1930’s an inmigration flowing of people from the Canary Islands took place specially to São Paulo. These are the keys that make possible a valoration of the relations between the Canary Islands and Brazil througout the History.
