Abstract
The main objective of this paper is to describe, using the methodology developed by the international project AMPER, the melodic characteristics of duration and intensity of a group of simple affirmative sentences with full meaning, and nonpronominal or absolute interrogative sentences of the SVO-type, drawn from a corpus comprising a experimental-speech from Tenerife island. We will attempt to show the relationships between intonation and accent, in order to ascertain the possible influence of the different accent typologies of words and their position within the sentence, as well as to show and assess the results of their prosody by performing a test of perception.
