Abstract
The epiphytic bryological flora of the city of San Cristóbal de La Laguna (Tenerife, Canary Islands) has been studied, with the aim of knowing its diversity and distribution as well as the phorophytes that support it. Trees located in public squares, parks and roads were observed, and sampling was carried out trying to include the greatest floristic and ecological diversity. The presence of epiphytic bryophytes was detected in 28% of the observed trees. Seventeen species of bryophytes, three liverworts and fourteen mosses, have been identified. Biological and ecological information of the listed species has been analyzed in relation to the most frequent features observed in bryophytes of urban environments.
